Robert Mugabe: The lesson to learn

[update: 15 May 2008 / 1:41] The president of the University of Massachussetts recommend that the school revoke an honorary degree awarded two decades ago to Robert Mugabe. The statement says, Robert Mugabe appeared to be a force for positive change in Africa. Today that promise no longer exist.
Robert Gabriel Mugabe was born on February 21, 1924, at Kutama Mission in Zvimba, Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) four months after it became a British Crown colony. Mugabe was the son of a peasant farmer and carpenter. Despite detention and harassment from the white settler regime, Mugabe resisted attempts to break him and maintained a fierce commitment to the principles of racial equality and democracy. In 1980 he was rewarded by becoming Zimbabwe's first elected black prime minister. [source: http://www.answers.com/topic/robert-mugabe]
The lesson to learn from his biography: Once upon time, he was a hero for Zimbabwe black people but the support was not un-renewable passport for him to remain as premier of the country forever. He is losing the ground support in 2008 elections. He is loosing the battle yet refuse to give up and expected will fight either by peace or violently to remain in power. Sorry to say it but this is the third world country's leaders mentality. They want to remain in power forever although they have to sacrifice the country's peace and security. Zimbabwe will go to chaos if Mugabe refuse to step down. A good leader must leave after a certain period of time. They used to assume that the country or community will collapse if they are not in power but it's really ridiculous because it's just actually another reason to remain in power. Mugabe has really worked hard for the equality of his man but then at the end of his premiership, people shoo him harshly. WHY? Because he overstayed his welcome. The lesson to learn, people will appreciate if the leader leave after a certain period of time otherwise the bad luck is will be waiting for them. Let's learn from Mugabe's mistake.
