Who is To Blame?

Mumbai, India’s commercial capital run into chaos and was under attacks, the worst in the last 20 years. In a series of well coordinated ambush, 10 sites were attacked concurrently. So far no body knows the real motive while the Prime Minister on his first statement said “the attacks came with external links.” What did he means by external links is not very clear but security analyst did not rule out the ISI role. Its proven record, ISI was the main foreign intelligence agency which gave full back-up to extremist to ruin India. In past ISI trained the militants fighting for the Kashmir’s independence and ISI was the prime target on Indian embassy attacks in Afghanistan recently. Even ISI have played major role on the attacks on the Indian Parliament in 2001 which left 12 people dead and almost lead to a war between two countries. But that not the reason for the security analyst to rule out other militants group.

India has at least 36 listed terrorist organisations. In this Mumbai attacks unknown group identified their self as “Deccan Mujahidden” has claimed the responsibility [Deccan refers to the Deccan Plateau that makes up the majority of the southern part of the country. 'Deccan' is an Anglicized form of 'dakkhin' which means south] May be the members of this unknown group might consist majority from south India. Intelligence believes this new group might have the affiliation with the Indian Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba. Lashkar-e-Tayyiba was the prime suspect in Mumbai commuter trains and platforms attacks during rush hour in July 2006. More than 200 people were killed in that attack. Intelligence have reported Lashkar-e-Tayyiba has several thousand members in the Pakistan-controlled part of Kashmir and was identified as one of the three largest and best-trained groups fighting against India Another prime suspect were out law student movement called as “Student Islamic Movement of India” and Al-Qaeda which has repeatedly threatened to attack India in revenge for its policies in Kashmir. Police statement said, they have detained nine (9) terrorist at the location and three (3) civilian. Definitely the police will be able to get more information and the truth will prevail soon. If ISI was the off screen planner then I assumes the fourth war between the two countries will occur. Although Pakistan civilian government have issued a very strong statement condemn the attack but ISI work on their own and not under the civilian control. I believe, India need to re-visit their security and defence policy. From May 2008 until today there were 8 attacks which killed hundreds of civilians. This attack shall not be allowed to continue and government of India must take a drastic action to put a pull-stop. India have the capability in intelligence and security but lately something is wrong on their intelligence collections which need to be rectify otherwise the country will be destabilized by the terrorist.
