3 By-Election in a Day

7 April 2009 - Tuesday - Three By Election in a day and the result was 2 seat won by Pakatan Rakyat and 1 seat by Barisan Nasional. I believe the voters especially from peninsular want to send some strong message to our new PM. The details as below;

i. Batang Ai - "BN" Malcolm Mussem Lamoh (3,907 votes), "PKR" Jawah Gerang (2,053). The majority is 1,854. (In 2006, the majority was 806-vote at the state election)

ii. Bukit Gantang - "PAS" Mohd Jamaluddin Nizar (21,860), "UMNO" Ismail Saffian 19,071, Kamarul Ramizu Idris (Ind) 62. The majority is 2,789. (In 2008, the majority was 1,566)

iii. Bukit Selambau - "PKR" S.Manikumar 12,632, "MIC" S.Ganesan 10,229. The majority is 2,403. (In 2008, the majority was 2,363) The 13 Independents collectively garnered 1,200 votes.
