Mas Selamat Kastari Detained

[updated: 11052009 / 10:34] According to Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, Mas Selamat had swam across the Straits of Johor using an improvised flotation device to escape from the north shore of Singapore. Malaysian authorities has conveyed the information about the detention to Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and to Wong himself. Singapore authorities had honoured Malaysian request to keep the information a secret.

News source from Singapore said the most important JI Singapore cell, Mas Selamat Kastari detained by the Malaysian authority based on the intelligence provided by Singapore Internal Security Department. Currently he is under detention in Malaysia for further interrogation.
