[update 10082009 / 16:00] News report indicates fingerprint analysis which was done to the man killed by Detachment 88 did not match with Nordin Mohd Top. DNA test result is still pending. Malaysian-born Noordin Mat Top was gun down by Indonesian Detachment 88 special squad after 17 hour siege. Indonesian police say they will ask relatives of wanted Islamist Noordin Mohamed Top for DNA to confirm if he was killed in a shoot-out. Noordin was reportedly in a house in central Java which police stormed on Saturday. Indonesia National Police said the official confirmation of the identity will be released once they received the DNA result.
