Enhanced Autonomy for MILF

The Philippines government has offered the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) “enhanced autonomy” to end 40 years of separatism struggle. The government negotiators said the enhance autonomy was president idea to share powers with MILF which include tax collection and the control of natural resources in the areas that Filipino muslims claims as their ancestral domain. Even though the proposal will be negotiated further on 2nd round in mid feb 2010, the idea sounds much better than going to full scale of war. The defeat of separatist will not end at gun point but will continue unless the people who want the separate state decided to abondon their goal. Hopefully both parties can seal a peace accord this time to avoid the future all out of war.
