Where is Political Reconcilation?

“United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon expressed concerns about the lack of progress on political reconciliation, the treatment of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the setting up of an accountability process in Sri Lanka since the United Nations signed a joint statement with the Government last year in the wake of the end of its civil war with separatist Tamil rebels.”

Why the sudden change from UN Secretary General? What make him to change overnite? When the International Community was begging to him to stop the killings of civilians, he send his office aide for tour to Sri Lanka just to back and report “nothing happen” and “all is fine.” Then why now? Self repent or looking forward to retain the Secretary General post in UN office?

The presidential election is over and parliament election is end of the corner yet the Tamil people did not see any progress for their future. Their future was black out from the election manifesto. The supression is continued and more than 100 thousand of Tamilians is still behind the barbed wire and not to forget thousands of ex-cadre in illegal detention at unknown locations. Without the political solutions I dont think peace will prevail in Sri Lanka. Autonomy will be a good start-up for political reconcilation.
