Funding and New International Recruits From Daesh Central Command

Institute for Policy Analysis of Conflict, a research institute based in Jakarta, reported that Mahmud Ahmad, a Malaysian and high-level Daesh figure based near Marawi, Mindanao has worked through the group’s chain of command to get funding and new international recruits.  It is strongly believed that both resources were to help home grown terrorists to launch violent attack and to seize territory in the Philippines for the so-called caliphate.

Further the report says that Daesh central command in Syria had transferred thousands of dollars to terrorists in the Philippines over the last year.
