Threat from Daesh is over?

Open sources reported that Iraqis' government has officially declared that Mosul had been liberated from daesh's grasp. Iraqi Prime Minister was recorded saying recapturing the ISIL stronghold is a great victory.

While the conventional military threat from daesh especially in Iraq had been brought to the end, however, the ideology threat is remain real and intact. Daesh's ideology has been spread across the region. While the western countries especially the UK and France experiencing violence attacks through small radicalised group, however, Marawi, Southern Philippines' experiencing worst situation since May 23.

Media reports says that more than 500 people consists of terrorists and civilians as well as members of the Philippines' soldiers were killed. Despite government's deadline to bring the siege to the end but as of today conventional mini war is still on going and unlikely will end at the near future.

With the Daesh chapter is almost close in Iraq the most alternative strategy will be guerrilla warfare by the remaining hardcore terrorists. However, their next target location might be in the Southeast Asia region and Marawi siege might be the starting of another big war.

Wondering what happen to remaining Malaysians who had joined daesh and left to Mosul in the past? Will they back to their home country to continue the violence in the name of Islam?  Only time will answer...
