Taliban Killed at least 145 People
Pakistan Military spokesman said at least 145
people were killed in an attack by Taliban in the Army Public School and Degree
College, Peshawar. Among the casualties were 132 children between 12 and 16
years old, 10 school staff, and three soldiers. More than hundred were wounded and
many in critical condition. Their life-threatening condition suggests that the
casualties may increase in upcoming days. Internal source said the school was
home to about 1,100 students and staff, most of them were kids of army
personnel.
2. Immediately after the violence, Pakistan Taliban,
formerly known as Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) confessed their men have engineered
the attack. Taliban on its first statement said the attack was a revenge for troubling
their network. However, later they rephrased it that the attack “was revenge
for the killings of hundreds of innocent tribesmen and their children during a
recent offensive by the Pakistani military”.
Comment
3. TTP for donkey's years are
conducting an insurgency against democratically elected Pakistani government,
as they seek to take over the authorities and bring in Sharia law. While the
Government received millions in dollar as well as military technical assistance
from foreign countries yet little success has been achieved in eliminating
terrorism within its soil.
4. I’m in of the opinion that the Pakistani
government need to overhaul its counter terrorism strategy and to be more
inclusive in its agenda in overcoming the emergence of radicals within its
border. While the government forces are fighting the armed terrorist, the
relevant authorities should formulate the policy to clip radicalisation on
Pakistanis at the young age.
5. Pakistani government also shall
look into its security agencies structure particularly ISI. It’s an open secret
within the intelligence circle that the terrorists groups based in Pakistan was
funded by ISI with the crystal instruction to run violent operation against
India. However, along the way this terrorist groups have emerged stronger and
they have technical capabilities to counter attack whoever trying to cut down
their strengths.
6. When political changes take
place in the country, the new government may distance their administration from
any violent group and turn back the intelligence and military forces against
the same group that was built by previous administration. This is one of enigmas
in Pakistan and it turns up backfire the government of the day.
7. The disgrace part on this tragic
incident was after slaying more than 140 innocent people and few hundreds were
critically injured, yet Taliban without any guiltiness claimed themselves as
protectors of Islam. I don’t believe those who understand the real teaching of
Prophet Muhammad will agree with these terrorists, who are using Al-Quran and
its radical interpretation to justify their manslaughter.
8. The terrorist who are
using religion are doing disservice to the faith they are subscribed. Whoever
love peace and accept the natural truth that we are born different shall work
hand-on-hand to exterminate violence and its perpetrators.
