Physcology War on counter terrorism

Terrorist and terrorism is not a new terminology or new act of violence. It's occur since 18th century, the only differences are whether it’s Traditional Terrorism or The New Terrorism. George Bush unilateral war against the terrorism has created more damages then countering the terrorist activities. US policy makers realised the mistakes and they have revisited their decision on the war against the terrorist. The war is not against the Muslim’s community but against the terrorist. The terrorist is a terrorist and they don't belongs to any religion. To overcome the damages, US policy makers have accepted the proposal from American Muslim's Association, titled as "Terminology to Define The Terrorist". The association proposed, do not call a terrorist as a "JIHADIST" or "MUJAHEDEEN", do not call Al-Qaeda as a "MOVEMENT". The word such as "ISLAMOFASCISM" is out too.

Another internal memo from US "Extremist Messaging Branch" at the National Counter Terrorism Centre says, "It's not what you say but what they hear", 14 points on how to present the anti-terror campaign;

*never used the terms "jihadist" or "mujahedeen" in conversation to describe the terrorist; calling enemies as "jihadis" and their movement a global "jihad" unintentionally legitimises their actions.

*use the term "violent extremist" or "terrorist", both are widely understood terms that define the enemies and simultaneously deny them any level of legitimacy.

*avoid ill defined and offensive terminology; dont insult or confuse our audience with pejorative terms such as "Islamo-fascism", which are considered offensive by many muslim's.

For me this is the right terminology to avoid any negative perception's towards muslim's community. Terrorist is a terrorist but that's is not a reason to put the whole community into the same basket and label it as a terrorist community. Hope the new terminology will reduce the damage that has been done.
